As the vibrant hues of summer give way to the warm, golden tones of autumn, a new adventure beckons: autumnal glamping. We all know autumn is beautiful, it’s a time of year when we see so much colour change, shorter days, crisp, cool air, the scent of fallen leaves, and the rustling of trees as they prepare for winter.
As the days get shorter, and nights get longer, we’re going to see a shift in our habits. We’re most likely going to hibernate inside; binge watch a lot more TV shows and films and spend a lot more time on our phone and other electronics. This means it is now the best time to disconnect from that and reconnect together while it is still warm enough and light enough outside. Once the sun sets it’s the perfect time to snuggle up and get cozy in your pod or even by your firepit with a toasted marshmallow.
You learn to appreciate the little things when it isn’t as accessible to create. Boiling milk in a pan outside for a hot chocolate or boiling your own water for a hot shower, both things that can be done in a minute in our homes but frankly more enjoyable when taken the time to produce. Playing card games and sharing stories around a fire and under the stars while spending time with your family, friends or partner are memories, life lessons and skills that will stay with you for a long time.
So get out and enjoy autumn; go for a walk, coffee date, build a campfire, join a new club, learn a new skill or a new language, go picking berries on the hedgerows, cold dip in the sea, however, you want to spend it. When you add the charm of autumn and the benefits of off-grid living, you have a recipe for an unforgettable experience.
