Relax, unwind and explore the Yorkshire countryside

Lahtle Wood is an eco friendly off-grid Glamping site in North Yorkshire, catering for all age groups with the addition of delightful wood-fired hot tubs for our romantic 2 person pods. There is no electricity inside the pods but there is running water for our toilets and hot showers for your comfort.

We offer 15 Glamping units accommodating families and groups of all ages for 2, 4, and 6 people. Each pod has its own private area and facilities placed in the corners of 4 separate grassy glades hidden amongst the trees. The aim is for guests to unwind in the great outdoors, away from their electronic devices, discover how to light a fire to heat the shower boiler, cook on a camp fire grill and snuggle up around a log fire pit.

We are a dog-friendly site, but we do ask that dogs are kept on a lead and owners take responsibility and use the bins provided. Please be mindful of children playing within the wood and grassland.

Situated 10 miles from the old market town of Malton, 13 miles from the coastal town of Scarborough and only 29 miles from the city of York, we are perfectly located for you to explore close by local activities such as the North Yorkshire Water Park, Dalby Forest and Go Ape, Flamingo Land, the Sealife Centre, Eden Camp and Castle Howard, to name but a few. For the fit and active, take a stroll along the Wolds Way trail with delightful views across this beautiful County and rest half way round at our lovely local pub, The Dawnay Arms for lunch/dinner on route, only a miles walk from our site.

All of this makes Lahtle Wood the perfect place to bring your family or that special someone for a relaxing getaway on the stunning North York moors. Come and see what glamping has to offer you.

Meet the team

We are a family that loves all things outdoors and adventure. We live on a farm in the Yorkshire Wolds and are very much country people. We have always loved travelling and exploring new places as well as welcoming new challenges. In 2015 we bought this 4 acre site and instantly had ideas of creating the woodland areas into a place where people can connect with nature. We envisioned a luxury glamping getaway for families and couples, a place that could show our guests how beautiful this area is and how much it has to offer. After 5 years of brainstorming, designing and lots of blood, sweat and tears… Lahtle Wood was born!

We think nothing beats sitting around campfires and fully embracing the outdoors. By creating Lahtle Wood, we were able to combine our love for camping and campfires with the beauty of our surroundings. Everyone can come and enjoy the peace of the woodland and the beauty of the landscape. Now we’re offering this peaceful experience to you. Come join us for a Yorkshire glamping holiday you and your family will want to return to again and again!

David Harrison

David is the naturally creative and very practical one in the family. He was responsible for ensuring that the pods were designed and built with great attention to detail and continues to maintain the site to a high standard.

Sarah Harrison

Sarah, who previously ran an outdoor catering business, loves doing things for other people. She is very energetic and naturally hospitable.

As well as running Lahtle Wood on a day-to-day basis, Sarah was responsible for the interior design, and ensures that the pods and cabins are always beautifully clean and welcoming.

Tinika Crossley

Tinika has spent her holidays and summers either helping with the building of the pods or the housekeeping in the last couple of years.

She is now a full-time member of the team and will be focussing on the marketing and sales. Tinika has many new and exciting plans, so we’re looking forward to the future of Lahtle Wood.
