Up for a Hike?

Want to walk the Wolds Way?

Are you a keen hiker, lover of a stroll or a national trail completer? We have the Wolds Way just on our doorstep.

The Wolds Way is a 79-mile route from Hessle, East Riding of Yorkshire to Filey, North Yorkshire coast which wends through some of the most tranquil and gentle countryside in England. From the banks of the mighty Humber estuary, along wooded slopes and through serene dry valleys, the walk climbs gently onto the airy tops of the rolling hills where on a clear day “you can see forever”. Descending from the northern escarpment the final section of the Way finishes on the dramatic headland of Filey Brigg.

If you want to complete a section of the walk you could start in East Heslerton and finish In Filey or you can do small loops and walk part of the Wolds Way and loop back to the glamping site going either way towards West Heslerton and get a refreshment at the Dawnay Arms Pub (8.2 KM) or head to Sherburn and stop off at either The East pub or Lilys Sandwiches and bakery (9.75 KM).

Whilst walking either of these routes, you can experience some of the most stunning scenery of the Yorkshire Wolds. You can see the coast whilst on the tops above Sherburn, or you can look over to the moors whilst walking to West Heslerton. Walking is also such a great activity to do with the family as the routes aren’t too strenuous and are safe and a great bit of exercise for the whole family, with a potential pit stop at the pub afterwards. What’s not to love?
